EXPERIMENTAL TYPOGRAPHY
EXPERIMENTAL TYPOGRAPHY:
- Printed words - shapes/Design/size/colour/arrangement. - Aim - Produce 2 in studio - 2 in independent study. - 20 by 20cm Square frame to locate text.
CONSIDER:
1. Mixing up font styles - contrast are good (Plain VS Ornate).
2. Combine different size of font (Upper/ Lower - Expression = shout/whisper).
3. Play with arrangement of letter forms and where they sit in frame (Verticl, Shapes, Upside Down, Center, Corner, Use Edges Crop).
4. Decourate each letter form - character/per- sonality/patterns.
5. Colour/Meaning/ Reinforce/Contradict - layers of meaning words with words.
6. Do not look to preempt designs - let them happen instinctively.
