BRICK LANE PROJECT

BRICK LANE PROJECT

Bricklane Project Review

FORM

The first page consists of a bloody postcode sign with the ‘E’ behind the ‘B’ and the ‘1’ in front of the ‘E’. With blood splatter all over and around the postcode, also a sentence spelling ‘Jack- The-Ripper-Investing-In’, in black writing with a green border. The second page is split into three sections. The first section is a jack the ripper hat with a circle border and a single wavy cloud passing by in the top left hand corner; engulfed by smoke and a small woman in the middle to show perspective and has a full sized Victorian street lamp on the right-hand side. The second sections, is a close view of a hand covering a woman’s mouth and pulling her into the smoke. The third section is a close- up view of Jack the ripper top hat, focusing on his red eyes and nose and a bloody knife next to him. The third page including a woman being attacked by jack the ripper showing one of her breasts and her hair ying all over the place. Symbolizing distress. The fourth page again has been split into three sections. The first section is a close-up view of the Rippers hand stabbing his victims in the exposed breast with blood coming out. The second section is when you the knife exiting the victim’s body and blood is gushing everywhere. The third section is of jack collecting the woman’s blood and putting it in the spray can. The fth page contains two sections, the first section is an image of the make of jack the rippers spray can called woman’s blood, which is surrounded by bloody knives. And the second section has a graf ti piece that is in Brick Lane. The sixth page has more graf ti in with lines and top hats surrounding the image and text saying ‘Secret Wars’. The seventh page has more graffiti, which is a technical computer-look- ing image, and the eighth page is merged with three graffiti artists’ art. Pictures have been taken by me, of brick lane, making the front and back cover, of the book and all of the drawings is done is red and black.

CONTENT

The Idea is to interpret what Brick Lane means to me and what attracts me to Brick lane and what I like about it. Then convert that into a book.

PROCESS

How I made this project was to taking pictures of graffti in Brick Lane, then dividing my page in half, then make a 1cm margin, then starting to the drawings in in pencil then I used the black and red ne liner to colour my book.

CONCULSION

I really enjoyed this project due the fact of storytelling and been able to express that fact through in what I see in a particular area which of course is Brick Lane.
